In short: Aha Explainer is a curated catalog, not an open platform. We publish explainers that teach one idea well, are safe for a classroom, and follow the technical format. We can say no to anything, and anyone can report a problem to us.
1. What we look for
- Teaches one idea through interaction, so the reader gets an "aha" by playing with it.
- Is accurate, or clear about where it simplifies.
- Is suitable for students and a classroom.
- Works on phones and touch tablets, without hover.
- Is a single, self-contained file that makes no requests to other servers: no external scripts, fonts, images, analytics or data collection.
- Is your own work, or you have the right to share it under our terms.
2. What we never accept
- Anything illegal, or that helps someone break the law.
- Any sexualisation of minors. We report it to the authorities.
- Sexual content, graphic violence, or content promoting self-harm.
- Hate, harassment, or content attacking people for who they are.
- Misinformation presented as fact, including harmful health, medical or financial claims.
- Malware, cryptocurrency miners, tracking, fingerprinting, hidden behaviour, or code that tries to escape its page.
- Collection of personal data, or personal information about other people.
- Ads, promotion, affiliate links, or spam.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
- Impersonation of real people or organisations.
3. How we decide
We review every request and submission, sometimes with the help of AI tools. Publishing is an editorial choice. We may decline a request or submission for any reason, including quality, accuracy, fit with the catalog, overlap with an existing explainer, or simply our limited time. We are not obliged to publish anything, or to publish it by any date.
We may also edit a submission before or after publishing, for example to fix bugs, improve accessibility, adjust the title, description or tags, or fit it to the site's format. If a change affects what the explainer teaches, we will check with you first.
We may remove a published explainer later, for example if we find errors, it breaks this policy, it gets outdated, or we receive a valid complaint.
4. Reasons and appeals
When we decline a submission we will usually tell you why, briefly, but we don't have to. If we remove or restrict content you provided after it was published, we will tell you what we did and why, unless the law doesn't allow it or the content was spam.
If you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or email contact@ahaexplainer.com. A person will look at it again. Final publishing decisions are ours.
5. Reporting a problem
If you think something on the site is illegal, infringes your rights (for example your copyright), is wrong, or breaks this policy, email contact@ahaexplainer.com with:
- the link to the page;
- what the problem is, and why you think so;
- your name and email address (you may leave these out if you're reporting child sexual abuse material);
- a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete.
We will confirm we got your report, review it promptly and tell you what we decided. We may stop handling reports from people who repeatedly send clearly unfounded ones.
6. Contact point
The single point of contact for users and for authorities, including under the EU Digital Services Act, is contact@ahaexplainer.com. We can communicate in English and Polish.
